One day at a time

One day I came back from school and I found that my grandmother had planted sugar cane in our garden. She told me that I was to water the sugar cane first thing after school. I was so excited because all of my friends had sugar cane in their gardens. The next day i started watering the sugar cane, I was so excited and I could not wait to see the sugar cane come through the ground. After about three weeks of religiously watering them, I started to see the results of my labour, these little plants started coming out of the ground. Within six weeks the sugar cane had grown to more than 6ft tall. I was so happy to look at our garden and watch the fruits of my hard labour.
This experience had remained insignificant to me until I realised that this experience was vital to me in a lot of ways. A lot of people always start but they never finish anything, if I stopped watering the sugar cane before it came out of the ground it would have died. Your life will changed for the better if you finish what you start, so many people are not doing what they wold love to do because they never finish whatever they start. In the first few weeks I had to water the sugar cane everyday but after they reached about 6ft tall I only had to water them once every two weeks. In life once you reach your goal, you will just need to maintain what you have accomplished. One day my grandmother planted the sugar cane, then next day I started watering and before long I had what I wanted. Start working on your dreams today by doing something that will get you what you want no matter how small because it’s the little drops of water, it’s the little grains of sand, that makes a mighty ocean and beautiful land.
