One day on my way from work, I heard two students talking about their upcoming exams, one of them said they were very worried about their exams and to ensure that they were prepared they will spend the whole weekend revising. The person said that I am very worried too but I will spend my weekend doing something fun. They went on to talk about all the things that they will be doing that weekend instead of revising. The other person was so surprised that this person was going to spend the entire weekend just having fun instead of working hard on the things that really matter. They walked for almost half a mile and this person who was going to spend his weekend revising asked why his friend was going to spend the whole weekend playing instead of studying? This young person then said something that is really profound, he looked at his friend and said “If you are not doing anything about it then you are not very worried about it”
I see a lot of people who say they are worried about something but they do not do anything about it. It’s like saying I am worried I will have no food this weekend but I am not going to be bothered to get out and buy food. I am sure if we are running out of food we will get up and go and buy it. If you ae worried that we are not going to end up where we want to be, we will do something different. A lot of people are just not worried about the results they will get because of what they are doing hence they do not change them. When I set a goal to go to university I was very worried about where I was going to end up in life and I did not like where I was heading so I did something about it. Do you have an area in your life that needs changing? Do you think that your relationship with your spouse could be better? If so, what have you done about it? Saying you are worried about something but you are not doing anything about it only shows that you are not very worried about it.
