The Big picture

A friend of mine told me a story of how their new manager changed the fortune of the company he was working in three months of been in the job. The staff turnover had been terrible for a number of years and it was not getting any better. Company targets were achieved each and every year but employees kept leaving the organisation in their numbers. When my friend’s new manager came in and quickly realised that staff were really demotivated and even though the company was making a healthy profit he noticed that company could be doing better that it was, the company was focusing more on the profits than the people working for them. When he walked in his focus on how he could make the employees to feel part of the organisation. Three Months later the company report showed that the organisation had the most profitable three months in ten years.

A lot of times we want to achieve something but we never really look at the big picture. Some people focus on the goal to an extent that harms their family life and their health. In the end they end up crumbling and losing everything they have worked hard for. My friend’s manager realised that the company was spending more money and time on recruitment. You might be working hard on your goals without realising that you could further than you are only if you changed a few things in your life. Always look at the big picture. Stop looking short term goals because the problem will always be there if it not dealt with effectively.
